ANGEL: Posting Grades |
For
students in Earth 2: Earth Systems course, I heavily utilize
ANGEL to quickly and efficiently disseminate information. I have posted
exam grades, assignment scores,
and assignment solutions on ANGEL to reach all 200+ students in the course. |

ANGEL: Online Quiz |
Also
for students in Earth 2: Earth Systems course, an online
quiz has been given. This quiz was designed to aid students
in understanding the Greenhouse Effect. Afterwards, I retrieved the grades
from ANGEL and incorporated them into the grade book. |

Student Interaction |
Student
Teamwork & Collaboration |
Students in Geography 121 collaborated virtually through the
use of instructions posted to their personal Web sites.
This course was designed so that students teach their peers. Students
were placed in groups to teach the class how to complete a project. The
information was presented in class through the use of PowerPoint presentations
and instructions posted online. |

Diversity |
Web
site accessibility for the visually impaired |
All images in this Teaching with Technology Web site contain ALT tags - alternative text that appears in place of the image for text-only browsers. For visually impaired users using speech synthesizers with text-only browsers, the text is "spoken". ALT tags therefore diversify who has access to technology by allowing physically impaired students the opportunity to use Web sites such as this one. |

Resources |
Commercially Developed Software: Photoshop |
In
creating the course information page for my students in Cartography
I utilized many different commercially available software tools. In creating
the visual instruction
page for using PSU's Portal, I utilized Photoshop to add
arrows to the graphics for highlighting important information.

Resources |
Commercially Developed Software: PDF Writer |
In
addition to Photoshop, I also used the PDF Writer software to create cartography-specific
information for my students. The resources*
page was created using such technology. A PDF allows for easy printing
and also allows students to highlight and copy Web site links directly
into a browser. |
