Project 5 / 6: Layouts

Designing a Thematic Map Presentation /
Creating a Layout for a Final Map Presentation

Objective:
manipulate graphic and typographic variables, use queries
to create new feature classes, and label features;
create layouts with or without the use of a template

This layout is a land use zoning map for Union County, Pennsylvania. In order to create this layout, a choropleth map was made first demonstrating the different land uses, such as agricultural land (in light green), commercial land (in red), commercial and manufacturing land (in dark pink), rural-residential land (in yellow), village land (in orange) and woodland (in dark green). Bodies of water are symbolized in blue.
Then labels were added for roads and a layout template was used for the final map.
