Project 2: Locating Geographic Coordinates with GPS
(Global Positioning System)


Objective:
use a GPS receiver to locate positions specified with geographic (longitude and latitude)
coordinates; import GPS data into GIS software, and integrate GPS data
as a layer in an ArcView 8.x map composition

Waypoint+ Software Program

This software program was used to download the waypoints from the GPS unit into the computer.


Downloaded GPS Data

Once the data was downloaded, the data was brought into MS Excel
and manipulated to integrate it into ArcView 8.x.


University Park Map and GPS Data Points

The GPS data was integrated into the GIS layers of the University Park campus and plotted.
